Tara Kochanskyj, one of our owners and our center director, has dreamed of owning a preschool since she was a little girl. After years of babysitting Tara began working in the early education field as a afternoon floater in a local preschool during her junior year of high school. While working her way through both her undergrad and grad school programs in early childhood and elementary education Tara worked in a number of preschool settings in every capacity. When Tara's first son Austin was born in 2011 Tara decided to leave her position as a preschool director to pursue her dream of owning a preschool. In September of 2012 Tara opened a group family daycare in her families home. Tara has since cared for over 50 children in her home. In 2015 Tara, her husband Steve and Tara's parents, John & Florence Ofrias purchased a piece of property on Montauk Highway in Moriches that would one day be the home of their very first center based preschool. Tara looks forward to many years of working with children and strives to make Bloom the best in early care and education services When not at Bloom Tara can be found enjoying beach camping with her husband Steve, 6 year old son Austin and infant daughter Harlee.
Stephen Kochanskyj is the man behind the scenes at Bloom. He is in charge of the centers website design. He also takes care of the centers accounting. Steve works full time as a Heavy Equipment Operator. When not at his day job or Bloom, Steve can be found cooking an amazing meal for his family, camping on the beach, or just enjoying the outdoors.
